The Wheeler Cottages

The History behind The Wheeler Cottages

Here at The Wheeler House, we always wanted to have overnight accommodations available for our guests and we are happy to say that we now have just that: The Wheeler Cottages! We know that a wedding is a joyous occasion that can bring families and friends from all over together and often can turn into a weekend long celebration. These cottages are the perfect way to make your wedding at The Wheeler House even more memorable!

In November of 2014, our owner, Lee Lusk, was able to purchase three historic homes nestled on 22 acres of land that once was owned by The Wheeler House’s original owner, Mr. John Wheeler. The homes are more than half a century old and were once used to house the employees that worked at The Wheeler Lumber Yard. Once purchased, Lusk instantly started renovating. The main goal of the renovations was to maintain as much history as possible while adding a touch of similar decor and characteristics from The Wheeler House.

"The cottages were the perfect complement to The Wheeler House and turned our daughter’s wedding day into an unforgettable wedding weekend! As parents of the bride, we were excited to have such comfortable accommodations so close to the Wheeler House. We stayed at the cottages with the entire wedding party and the parents of the groom. All three cottages were uniquely and tastefully decorated with the southern charm found in The Wheeler House!

One of our daughter’s favorite parts of the weekend was having all of bridesmaids, mom, and mother in law all in the main cottage getting ready for the big day and enjoying all of those special moments together in a place that was comfortable and felt like home. I know the guys all enjoyed spending the day together as well!

Our daughter and son in law loved the cottages so much they even spent their wedding night there so we could enjoy every last second with friends and family!
The Wheeler House is definitely a one-of-a-kind venue and the cottages are the perfect finishing touch!"
