After doing some research, we’ve come up with a list of fabulous wedding trends that you brides will see in 2015!  So, if you are planning a wedding or you are just curious, sit down and wrap up from the cold in your favorite blanket because this post is perfect for you!

1.       “Wild West Weddings” - I figured I’d start this list with what The Knot calls Wild West Weddings.  This theme is perfect to capture at our venue so you can imagine our excitement when the Knot started their list with this trend.  This trend pulls it’s inspiration for ranches and barns.  And what does this trend include?  None other than your favorite rustic items!  Mason jars, lace embellishments, hay bales, tree stumps, old furniture, burlap, burlap, and more burlap!

2.       Color of the Year – Pantone has released their color of 2015: Marsala. This color will be huge for the wedding scene.  You’ll see it paired with light pinks and light blues.  This color will be scene in bridesmaid’s dresses, flower arrangements that include dahlias and peonies, décor, shoes, jewelry and cakes!

§  The Knot Wedding Planner App is perfect for setting up your timeline for your important day.  You can set up checklists, browse picture for new trends, and at the bottom of your screen you will find a countdown to the big day!

§  CapsuleCam is my favorite!  You can use this easy app to create an album on your wedding website and you can view all of your wedding hashtagged photos from Instagram!  (#OMG)

§  TouristEye is an easy app that will help you put the honeymoon of your dreams together.  Anything from location, to sightseeing to finding the best local restaurant, this app will find it for you!

§  Now ladies, who doesn’t want to have the perfectly toned body for their wedding pictures.  Let’s be honest, this is harder than the commercials make it out to be!  MyFitnessPall is an easy app that helps you set goals and track the progress you make on your journey to your wedding bod.  After all, don’t you want to look perfect for your honey on your honeymoon ;)?

4.       GoPro Wedding, Aerial Shots – Another fun idea is to have a few people in charge of a GoPro.  This could make for some awesome pictures, especially when attached to a selfie stick!  You could get different angles that you normally would not see!  Aerial shots are also another thing to do for your outdoor wedding.  Photographers will use a drone to get the aerial shot of your ceremony.  This gives a whole new perspective to placement and arrangements, so make sure everything looks flawless from above before the big day!

5.       The Modern Love Song – We all have our favorite classic love song like Let’s Stay Together by Al Green.  A trend for this is to get a modern version of a song to be played on acoustic guitar.  For example, Norah Jones’ cover of Love me Tender by Elvis.

6.       Let Them Eat Cake – There are so many new trends for wedding cakes.  Let’s summarize what we found!
  • Metallic cakes!  Shades of gold, silver and pewter with symmetrical lines make for the perfect cake of 2015
  • Texture, Texture, texture!  This is also extremely important.  Cake designers will use lace patterns and pleats, and textured buttercream frosting.
  • Black Fondant = Chalkboard.  Do you have a favorite saying between you and your soon to be hubby?  For example, the “Okay” between the two lovers in The Fault In our Stars *tears*.  Your cake designer can hand paint a saying onto your cake to make it look like a chalkboard.  How perfect!
7.     Who order the Rum & Coke? – A new (and genius) trend is to have a tasting station for your cocktail hour.  Instead of having a lot of one signature drink, because let’s face it, everyone likes different things.  Have a few of a wide variety of drinks for your guests to try!

8.       Grooming the Groom – We have to throw in a section for the men involved here.  A few trends we’ve seen have mismatching groomsmen tuxes, a blue groom’s tuxedo, and the khakis slacks paired with a blazer look.

Grooms need help too!

9.       Edgy is In – We’ve seen all types of dresses for bridesmaids from long flowing gowns to high lows.  A new trend is to have your bridesmaids in a romper, jumpsuit, or statement separates!  This one is definitely personal preference!

Make a Statement with a bold romper!

   10.   Most Important Item of the Night: The Wedding Dress – According to numerous blogs, Pinterest, and social media, the biggest wedding dress trend is an off the shoulder neckline.  There are other trends like wearing different colors than the traditional white (WHAT?!). These colors include soft pinks, soft blues, and yellows.  Tulle skirts are also in along with capes, collars, and removable trains.  If you’re not into the tulle skirt, you can spice it up with a 30’s glam style dress.  This means slim and sparkly.
Show a little shoulder!
Sleek and Chic always works!
