What to Bring on Your Wedding Day

When coming to your wedding venue on your big day, our in-house team of wedding planners has compiled a short list of things for you to remember to bring! We want our brides to have the experience of a lifetime and these insightful tips will be sure to make that happen!

Snacks and Water
We can’t stress this enough! Keeping hydrated and making sure you have some food onsite is crucial on any wedding day! There is so much happening we don’t want you to not have some food to snack on while getting ready.

 Toothbrush and Toothpaste
Okay, we know this might sound a little funny, but we highly recommend bringing this to keep your pearly whites in check on your wedding day! You'll be taking a ton of photos so you'll want to make sure your smile stays bright!

 Stationary
This is a huge and often forgotten! Your photographer will want to capture this on your wedding day and you will want these photos to remember your day by!

 Mascara and Lipstick
It’s totally normal to shed a few tears on your wedding day! Having a tube of mascara always on hand for touch ups is a great way to make sure you are still glowing in your photos! Your lipstick is also something that we suggest keeping with one of your bridesmaids or maybe even seeing if your photographer wouldn’t mind hanging on to it. Touch ups are going to be needed, and having these items close by is much easier than having to search for them.

Shoes
One thing we love at The Wheeler House is a good pair of wedding shoes! We love seeing so many of our bride’s different styles! We want our brides to be as comfy as possible so bringing a pair of flats or sandals to change into is a great idea!

Speaker
Yes! We love when our brides bring speakers and have their favorite tunes playing while they are getting ready! This helps to set a fun and relaxing atmosphere at sets the tone for the entire day!

Headache Medicine
On your wedding day, you are probably going to smile more than you ever have! With taking tons of photos, and talking to all of your guests, we highly recommend taking some headache medicine before the festivities get started!

 Safety Pins/Mending Kit/Scissors
This will give you so much relief! Whether there are tags that need to be cut off dresses or a small button that needs sewed back on, bringing the mending kit will help anyone in your bridal party in case of emergencies.

Band-Aids
With it being your wedding day, we are all about you getting some cute new wedding shoes that you totally love! Sometimes new shoes can cause blisters, especially if you have found your place on the dance floor! Having band-aids close by is something you will be so thankful for later on!

We so hope this blog will help many of our brides who are beginning to prep for their wedding day! These tips are guaranteed to make your wedding day run smoother and most importantly to help guide you through the wedding day process.

With love,
The Wheeler House

Show Me the Details!

Show Me the Details!

Thought and Time.
Two words. Two different meanings. Two personal wedding day elements that mean so much to our precious brides.

For those of you who have never really thought about the significant wedding day details that capitalize on you and your fiance's big day, we are writing this to show you the importance of adding your own personalized style to your wedding day! We are focusing on a few of our top wedding day details that 1) will take up some of your time but 2) will be the most thoughtful and sincere part of your wedding.
These details will deliver the most perfect pictures and memories for you when reflecting back on your day!

Jewelry
The elegance and simplicity of the jewelry you decide to wear on your wedding day showcases the features of simply you! The saying, "less is more" certainly does hold some truth to your wedding day. We suggest choosing pieces that will compliment you and your signature style on your big day!

Stationary
We love seeing the detailed shots of wedding invitations, save the dates, and all other wedding stationary that sometimes seems to get overlooked! Utilizing your color scheme of the wedding or perhaps the time of year that the wedding is taking place is such sentimental way incorporating everything together!

Handwritten Letters
This is so important! One of the most emotional moments that can be photographed on your wedding day. Writing a letter that you spent time on and sending it to your person is forever one of our favorite moments. To see the raw emotion revealed is so heartwarming and shows the sincerity between the bride and groom.

As if having your best girls by your side doesn’t already mean enough, it is so meaningful to share with them your gratitude. Bridal gifts and cards always compliment the bridal suite so well, while giving your girls a nice surprise on the day of!

Wedding Wednesday: Bridal Shoot with Hillary Leah Photography

Hillary: UGA grad student by weekday, wedding photographer by weekend. She is from the small town of Hickory Flat, Georgia- which as some of you may know, is right down the road from Ball Ground...
& y'all, this girl does it all.
Not only is she an amazingly talented photographer and artist, but her spirit and fun personality will make all of those dreaded pictures (like the ones with all 50 of your family members that have poor listening skills) not-so-dreadful. She really is a wonderful person to be around and her work does not disappoint. From engagements, to senior portraits, to family photos, to weddings- she does it all and it is all fabulous.
(Check out her website here to see more of her work)

Now sit down, grab a cup of coffee, and prepare to swoon over the whimsical, classic details that are entwined in this rustic-chic photo shoot at The Wheeler House with the talented Holland Daze and some of our other favorites.
